about

Based on chapter 9 of the gospel of John. The man born blind.

lyrics

I was born in the evening
Completely blind in both my eyes
I could not see

I grew up on the city floor
Despised by those I did not know
They could not see

Then you and your friends past nearby
And they began to philosophize
But you, you could see

And of your friends what did they care
Of course I could not see you there
But you saw me

And on that day you came along
You laid your muddy hands upon me

Then you told me to go wash them clean
I rose again that day you came
Now, I can see

So I told the people all around
About the man who came and found
Who found me

But they could not seem to understand
How a man born blind could see the hand
Who had healed me

They asked me time and time again
To describe for them this man
But they could not see

So when they'd thrown me from that place
I rose and finally saw your face
You'd again found me

You asked me son do you believe
In the one who made you see, in me?

I told Him yes I wanted to
If He'd please tell me what to do
He said son believe and follow me
Believe and follow me

So I rose and followed Him
And began my life again
Because He found me
